i switched from fixed to multi in the summer and man i would never use a fixy again i bought a penn mag2 525 they are highly recomennded and im sure others will tell u the same here aswell, i recently upgraded myself with an early xmas present and got an abu tsr and what a reel, personally for me i love them and cant see myself ever useing a fixy again apart from spinning etc.... but as the saying goes dont buy until u try coz they are exspensive and take alot of time practicing before ull be able to results in distance etc.....but i would recommend either of the reels above, as i was advised by the top casters in the country dont need to mention names but u know who they are!!!!!!!!!!!!!
best of luck in ur endevours!!!!!!!!!

same with me i bought penn525mag in the spring and as lugworm said with a bit of advice and practising fixed spool reels are no more in role, if you buy one, and first few casts you fail just don't go dissapointed just need a bit of time
i'v already changed 4 sets of line, but now geting there
good luck to you

Fixed spool all the way.
Multi's have little or no advantage over fixed spools in 99 % of angling situations but the fixed spool has many advantages. None more so than being virtually hassle free.
