Mark.I met a good few of the anglers on my travels about. The red tide did put a bit of a dampner on the fishing especially on the Inch/rossbeigh side. Some good thornies and a few turbot were still caught though. On the tralee bay side there seemed to be a lack of larger fish although there were 22 species caught on 1 day.The good news is thet the bass have really got going with 1 group of 4 anglers catching 18 bass in a 2 hour session. What with work being so crazy at the moment I havn't had a chance to put in a decent session in ages but the news of those bass have got me going .

Stephen Brennan was the best individual overall as far as I know with two section wins and a high third. Irish pairs did well with four teams finishing in the prizes. An irish team also finished in the prizes in the 4 man team event.

Thats good to hear. Are our Irish teams beginning to close the gap on the English and the Welsh?

cheers lads thanks for the info. one of the english lads was sayin the fishin wasn't as good as the years previous. lots of small fish as mentioned with the odd angler with good thornies. the specimen hunt didn't go well either with bad weather putting them off favourite marks. good to see the irish lads given them a run for their money!
