mainline choices

I've decide to re-spool my reels . I have one Multi to do and three fixed spools that need filling , up to now I've been using Berkey big game 17 lb mono on the two smaller reels and 20 lb triline on my penn surf reel . Multi is unknown. Any suggestions as I don't want to have to waste time and money on a bad line.

suffix tritanium, €9 i think in the halfway for 1100m of .35 line.

Berkley Iron Silk if you can get your hands on it ,best line i have ever used

Cheers lads anythin specific for the Multi or will they do both?

I use tritanium on both without any problems. If the fixed spools are big leave 100 yards of the old line on and you should get them all filled with one spool of the .35.

Tried many types of mainline!Suffix all the way excellent line and suffix leader is top quality!

Suffix Tritanium XL the strongets diameter/BS strain line that is still a very user friendly line. I fish 0.35 mm with a tapered leader and the strength is incredible.
The standard Tritanium is a really nice line but not as strong, i use it when i cant get XL.

Cheers for the replys lads . Ive got a spool of daiwa tournament mono in 18lb strain .I'm going to try pick up suffix in a 15lb and sakuma nite crystal and see how they fair before loading all . The daiwa seems a bit thick too me but I'll put it through its paces next week

i dont buy my mono by lb breaking strain anymore cos every brand is different. i just buy it in mm. .35mm could be anything between 14lb and 19lb depending on what brand you have or with suffix, what sticker is on the spool . if you are buying it by its lb rating and change lines you could end up with something very different to what you are used to.

as for the sakuma nite crystal, i used it last week for the first time over clean ground, it was on the reel from a casting day back in the summer so never even saw water. it was fine till i got a big clump of fine weed on the line that had to be pulled off. next cast was into another bit of weed and it snapped with little pressure. when i looked at it the line was all frayed from me pulling off the weed. stripped it when i got home and wont be using it again.

cheers red I'll forget the sakuma as most of my fishing will be on rough ground. Tfg nantec red mist might be worth a look

Ya im with Denis on this,the sakuma is'nt the strongest and after a snag/break its best to cut 15yds off due to stretch.One of the best ive used is tritanium .35mm very reliable even on mixed ground venues.But the strongest to date is stren stamina either in gold or blood red.Yes the 15lb is a bit thick but it will seriously haul anything when needed,ultra reliable in my opinion.
Tight lines

I use the Night crystal and have never had any problems with it, Its very subtle and diameter to breaking strain is brilliant maybe you lads had a bad spool ( it happens ) But I deffo wouldn't write it off. Ultima F1 is a very good line Suffix as said is very nice and ultima distance is also a cracking line. If your fishing rough ground you should look at Daiwa sensor its cheap as chips but extremely strong the 15lb is about 0.38 but its ideal for roughish ground..

I agree with Keith on the suffix,f1 and the daiwa sensor in 15lb but nite crystal hasn't worked well for me, I had to respool after my first time getting it,just parts and abraids way to easily..thought it might have been a dodgy spool so bought another and same thing bought another spool for a lad last week cause he was stuck and they had nothing else in .35 same thing with him, took it off after using once! I think Keith's been the exception by getting a good spool haha

sounds like a bad batch , I had a similar problem with maxima line . I got a few spools from one shop and they were powdery but thought nothing of it . The line was so brittle i was getting crack offs casting flying cs . Got the same line two years back and its fantastic . Use it on my light spinning rod and love it

I think Keith's been the exception by getting a good spool haha
