Anybody out there using additives out there? I have always used the likes of et products to improve my baits whilst pike fishing and have had fantastic results . Has anybody used similar products for sea fishing? I've heard about wd40 for cod is this a myth or has it worked?

No need for addidives or gimmicks, a fresh crab will outfish andything else for cod on the south coast (or any coast for that matter)

like the man said fresh peeler is lethal for cod on the south but if you have any other bait, wd40 can help with the scent trail. I use it all the time and believe me the fish certainly dont mind it. I would go as far to say i have more luck with it than not. I use it allot on baits like razor which aren't that scenty, and if you bring it in after casting out and its in good nick, just give it another spray and cast it out again. I have useed it on lug and fish baits like sand eel and whitebait and it has worked a treat. I've caught almost everything on it from bass to ray so i'd say go for it. It is also allot cheaper than some of the rip of attractors on the market. A main ingredient in wd40 is fish oil, so my friend says, so I can see why the fish are attrcted to it. It does put a good slick of a scent in the water so give it a try.

Best of luck and let me know how you get on

Yes they do work I have using my own type of additives for years just don't through away any old bait or fish away I bring it home and mince it all up then freeze it down in small tubs and bring it along next time I go fishing works very well for boat fishing as a rubby dubby just hang it in an onion sack over the side and it will thaw out slowly in the water giving off a good strong scent
