learning to fish

ive started sea fishing a couple of weeks ago and im fishing wexford area . is there any good marks for a beginner to start casting and getting a fish or two and is there any tips for this area . you can only get so much from books ,ts best getting tips from good fishermen

The best advice I can give you is to join a local club, that way you get to learn from the best anglers in the area without having to try make special arrangements. One of the best around is the Menapia club. But it really depends on what part of Wexford you are from or want to fish.

menapia club where is that ,im from carlow and the easiest places is courtown and curracloe and rosslare. i used to fish off the pier in the harbour at rosslare when i was a chap about 30 yrs ago but thats all changed now we use to get bags of codling and wrass and the odd gurnard so now the kids are all grown up and starting to fish

have to admitt joining a club will put you in touch with a group of locals that will share their marks and tricks to a fellow member without a problem in fact they will cherish a newbee who needs help nothing like teaching a beginer the ropes!

as above..join a club,ask a few questions ,most will be willing to help,dont feel intimidated,its a learning curve that we've all been on.you will make mistakes,(I still have a few howlers).stick at it....above all enjoy your self...remember, you will get out of it what you put in to it.plenty of top class anglers down that neck of the woods

Just google Menapia S.A.C. you will get all the info. you need from their site. Joe Carley of South East Bait is the chap to contact. If you are free tomorrow, head up to the fun match in Graystones, it should be a good way to meet a few lads and get some advice.
