What sort of budget have you got?
I would agree holla1974, Ian Golds range of rods are great. I have the International match and love it, great for putting out a lead, won't buckle in a strong tide or wind and great bite detection from creatures big and small ;)

Ian Golds rods range in price from 120 euro to 220 euro. Have the Supermatch Extra which is the longest in the range at fourteen foot ten. Bought for 220. Superb quality rod. Available in fixed spool and multi. Also have the Penn Powerstix Pro thirteen foot which will accommodate fixed spool or multi. Prices vary. Seen them for 130 euro got mine from Northern Ireland for ninety two including delivery. Lovely rod also.

+1 for the Ian Golds rods. Have the International Match and the Enticer. If your budget can stretch to 200 you should have a look. Give Paul Mason (search username) a shout.

Thanks for all the replies,I have been looking at the Penn powerstix pro 15"9,and the Grauvell technos range.Anybody used either of them, how do they cast, whats their action like and do they go well with a multiplier?

Id take the Powerstix over the Grauvell any day mate. Ive owned both. My Grauvell Teknos Surf snapped bringing in a 2lb Smoothound last summer. I replaced it with a Powerstix which is still bringing in some fine fish a year and a half later. Im sure a lot of lads on here will agree with the Penn. They have a great rep.
