hazelbank/newtownabbey

hi firstly sayin hello as im new to this forum..
been reading older posts about belfast lough which dont seem promising.

i dig my lug @ hazelbank newtownabbey and was wondering the last few times i was digging would it be worth having a rod out to see if i could pick anything up..

anybody have any input on if its worth fishing?

You should at least pick up flounder, coalies, whiting, dogs. Time it right and you may do better than you might expect, let us know how you get on.

hi dan. we fished whiteabbey in front of the legion, hazelbank at the bend with the big hanging tree and on down at jordanstown park a few years back in the hight of the summer and it was pretty grim :cry: . over 2 weeks i think we fished it 6 times over 6 hour sessions with 2 rods each on 3 hook flappers with size 4 hooks. all we had to show for our efforts were a few t bag sized flounder and a few tiddly whiting and coalies. needless to say we never bothered with it again :roll: . your far better spending the extra £10 on petrol and get yourself on up the antrim coast.

hi thanks for the replys
i normally fish ballygally and glenarm but was just wondering if hazelbank has any pottential.
mite give it a go someday but im not expecting much,which is best as a surprise may happen.
