I really ought to write a wiki for that area, it'd save me repeating myself.
What's your target species?

Gonna try for pollack and wrasse, travelling very light, few Tobys, plugs and soft plastics, what do you reckon?

Sounds good. Bring a German Spratt or two as well.
The back of Horn Head is a long walk, and watch it on the rocks there if there's any kind of swell. The rock platform a few hundred yards north of Portnablagh pier is handier, watch it in a north-westerly. Pointless fishing the rocks below the main road there. Further back into the bay, the point at the Metal Man (park at Ards Friary and walk along the pedestrian path past Isabella's Beach, then over the hill. You'll know the Metal Man when you see it) from low water up. Or, the point on the other side of the beach there. Try around the back of Breaghy at Harry's Hole a hour either side of high tide. Access at Marble Hill - park below the Shandon Hotel.
Will you have a car and be free to drive a bit out of that area?

No car I'm afraid or waders so it will be a pier with easy access I'd say, many thanks for all the info I'll let you know how I get on, and of course the mention in the memoirs

You wouldn't need waders, but a good pair of rock boots instead.
If you've no car then you'll be walking to the back of Horn Head (good exercise for you, at least!) Head in at the bridge and tramp over the dunes. At least they've recently installed a tourist trail there, so that'll be handy. You can walk to Portnablagh from Dunfanaghy, or you could just ask someone likely looking to give you a lift. The right people will be obliging enough. Also, there's mulletting in Dunfanaghy and at the bridge, 1 hour before high to half and hour into the drop. Not much cop on spinners, though.
