someone once told me theres no such thing as a stupid question as it says can anyone shed some light on neap and springs and when they happen thanks in advance stuck in a cast for the next 3 weeks with broken ankle so wont be fishing anytime soon boredom

Tides are based on the cycle of the moon
New and full moons give us spring tides the biggest of these are 2 days after a new or full moon
The low water for springs will occur around 1pm +- 1hour

First and last quarter’s give the neaps (lack tides)
The high water for neaps occur around 1pm +-1hour

Based on cycles of the moon i.e. Sept 2015 springs tides will be on the 15th. and the 30th.
