squid jigs have needles not hooks with barbs but i,d say two small trebles tied in tandem might work they are attracted to lights maybe a few starlights taped on would work why mot try a big torch or high powered headlight shining down into the water to get them interested ,i,m sure they would be a killer bait for alot of different speices
was out netting sandeels few weeks ago and we got a good few in each haul

red glow sticks used to work best they change colours themselves and its a red type colour when they get excited, you should be able to get a squid jig from a tackle shop or else online just watch out they dont ink you

plenty of fun and they taste great

Eoghan, do a quick search for 'eging' on the web and you'll find plenty of info on squid fishing. It's something that I'd love to try but I wasn't really sure if squid were target-able here from the shore, where and when to try etc.
