carrig island, ballylongford

I'm going fishing in Carrig island twomorrow
i'll be float fishing on the west side of island near the fort for mackerel, pollack and wrasse.
i'm going to use mackerel for bait
what depth should i set my float at and can i fish there all day or only at high tide?
i will probably dig some lugworms while i'm there for another trip
i don't have a bait pump so how do i dig for them?

thanks

You'd be better off targeting mack pollack and wrasse off a coastal rock mark not that that place doesn't produce them just less and smaller.
