spinning rods - value!

Hi

Just a quick heads up for any of you in the market for a new spinning rod.
The cheapest spot for the Shimano Exage STC (11 foot) is Harris Angling, but they charge 15 sterling for airmail delivery to your door. 53 sterling for the rod including UK VAT, which means it will work out at c. 100 Euro.

What really caught my attention however was the offer Veals have on at the moment for two (2) Diawa Shinobi rods (choice from three models, from 7 to 9 to 11 foot, casting up to 60 grams) for just 75 sterling ex P&P. I have never used them but Diawa do not produce bad kit - it is usually very hard wearing. The RRP for the 11 foot model on other sites is 85 sterling and on the Veals site, you can pick any two from the three models, including two of the same model for the 75 sterling.

Maybe there is a reason why they are so cheap, - feel free to post here - but I could not find one in any reviews...

Just thought it might benefit someone else (if the wife found I had bought two rods she flip the lid  ) so I bought the STC to bring on holidays next year and I'll deal with that lid flipping after she finds it in the suitcase

:D :D :D

Cheers

Not sure about the Diawa models but I have been using the Exage models for last cople of years and they are superb for heavy freshwater and light sea and spinning. Perfect travel rods and I would personally pay extra 25 or so euros rather than risk the Daiwa's unless anyone can provide a review.
