well would say life time is bout the same!...if yer beach fishing 60lb braid is bout the same 'diameter as 20lb mono (usually use 40lb 'floating' braid meself...it don't float that long!)...you have option of floatin or sinking braid! fined the yellow is easier to see (not in sunlight!)...braid can cause the following problems...
slip on the spool if not, spooled on properly (some use mono backing- me don't!)... spool the braid on, to with in 3-5mm of the reel, then spool off onto another rod and reel, set the drag on that reel (not too tight and not to lose!!!) ...wet the braid (lightly) the rewind onto the reel make sure its not slipping.
if you get snagged watch the braid is not cutting into the rod eyes (make sure your rod eyes are suitable!) or the braid on the spool, cause when you go to cast out the line will jam on the spool pulling the braid below of the spool with it, as there is no give in braid this can be very dangerous....if this happens and cause probs re-spool the braid as above (only ever happen on me multi set-up cause the drag wasn't set!)
other than that use braid on 3 of 5 set-ups, like it a lot and would say have had less trouble with it than mono set-ups...same 300m 60lb braid beach casting set-up is running 3yrs now 'turned the braid round on the spool this year first 100yrs tis like new...best luck
