I was cuaght up on my first cast tryed again a few more times was geting caught up on every cast moved down to the first corner off the rocks and was pulling in pumps of seaweed tried for a few more casts and the same thing, there was no weed floating on the sea. found it un fishable and went home
Was I fishing in two bad spots or was it just a bad day :?: :?:

Yeh that area can get very weedy at times. As for the snags Ive never got one but believe there is a section there called the hungry acre haha. Maybe an experienced angler can clarify where this exactly is. The North beach is never usually that weedy and is a good backup mark when the south beach is unfishable. Not sure if this is still accessible as there is work going on at the pier. Again maybe a local angler can clear this up.

Sounds like you were fishing what used to be called the dry river bed (mabe its wet now) the rough ground changes from year to year depending on big tides and heavy seas. Sometimes its just sand and after a big blow the rocks can become uncovered and kelp will establish its self during the summer months. Fish here with crab bait and stout end gear and you could be supprised, some nice bass and resident summer codling would be the bounty. Ballygannon as its known is not a patch of its fomer self in its heyday. The buggers robbed all the mussel and feed and shipped it down to wexford.
