tobys are supposed to be good I would imagine anything that looks like a sandeel.

I would also try sandeel. a place we go fishing for bass has white trout and one lad i know caught them using mackeral twice.

bubble float and flies can be great for sea trout - patterns like claret bumble or bibio that make a 'wake' on the surface can be deadly. in a current cast straight across and let it swing round in an arc - in slack water cast and reel in varing the speed - sea trout seem to like a moving target

mack belly strip cut sandeel size also works well as does sandeel, with the smaller ones working best for sea trout ( though i have had the greedy feckers on a full fillet of mack!)

one thing i would love to try is live sandeel - fished with a bubble float and light spinning rod - i think it would be deadly.
