Boat fishing off Howth any tips to catch more than mackeral

Looking for anyone who has fished off Howth we have a boat nothing huge can go a couple of miles. We have laked fish for years getting some big pike but we wanted a change.
every time we go out we end up with a box of mackeral and maybe a few doggies.
lookig for pointers to get some worth while fish.
Als looking for pointers to start tope fishing and ray.

Maybe you could try using different tactics, such as: fishing sand banks with worm baits for flats, or using your mackerel as bait for the odd tope or ray. Just my thoughts

maybe you could try to get some local advice on marks tactics baits ect have had cod dogs flats pollock bass gurnard on shore marks in and around howth so sould think that there is at least those spiecies available to the boat angler
