Swivel Types & Sizes

What would the most popular swivel size & type be for general shore fishing (making rigs etc), and also for boat fishing?

Rolling, Crane or Snap swivels?

Sizes i have seen are #8 #7 #6 #5 #4 #3 #2 #1 for rolling and same again plus 1/0 up to 6/0 for crane.

you don't seem to be getting too may replies to this one! personally i like small black barrel swivels, around te 80lb class for mainline, and 30 to 40 lb class for snoods. i have absolutely no idea of names, sizes or any kind of technical spec. as long as they are small, and strong, with diamond eyes, rather than round(personally preferance again)
i think most people are the same as me, and just buy the swivel and bits of terminal tackle they like without paying too much attention to numbers and sizes......hooks are a different matter though!

Always use the best swivels you can get. False economy can lead to lost fish. My preferences are mcmahon and power swivels.

Can't overemphasize enough the importance of using the right breaking strain of swivel to line. No point in using size 4 swivel (rated at 30lb) to 50lb shockleader. Kinda defeats the point of using shockleaders.

I use size 10's for rig snoods but huge size 3/0, 5/0(?) - about 300lb snap swivels for the end. Why? Cold wet fingers open the large snaps easier.
