You could try Caliso Bay, Go from Youghal toward Ardmore, take the underpass for Ferry Point. It is sign posted from Ferry point. The beach has a good drop off into a bit of depth. Try a small german sprat fished close to the rocks at either end of the beach. But be prepared to lose a few baits While you get to gauge the retrieve rate to keep you hooks off the bottom. By replacing the treble hook that comes with the sprat by fitting a single hook will give you a bit more survival rate when you do encounter rocks or weed. I have been told that surface popper plugs work here also, but i have never had any success with them myself.
A german sprat will set you back around €1.80. Plugs from €5.00 to €25. Happy hunting.

No problem Ger, there are some other marks West of the harbour, Knockadoon, but this is a very precarious location and while the fishing there is generally good, i would advise caution and recommend that if you do try it, that you dont go alone and always wear a buoyancy aid.
