Dollymount Mullet

Wed Jul 13, 2011 10:44 pm

Hello,

Just starting off fishing after having not done it in a few years.
I have been fishing around howth with little result.
I was walking down near the wooden Bridge in Dollymount the other day and can see a load of Mullet just before high tide.
Does anyone have any tips for catching them?
Whats the best bait and rig to use?
Any help would be great.
Cheers

It's not exotic, but a very small hook, small diameter line, dry white bread and a bubble float isn't a bad way to start......and alot of patience. If you can get the bait where you want without the bubble float, even better.

bread on a float rig size 10/12 hook or a small bit of mack or rag worm fished just under the surface would be your best bet

As above, the mullay at dollymount seem to prefer small rag or maddies ;)
