whats the story lads any word on the weed from youghal esturay or the front strand heading down saturday dont want a wasted trip

Fished there tonight and ..
There was some weed coming in with the tide but not too bad, very fishable. Same time no size of the fish, caught about 10 codlings no bigger than 25cm in 2h ...
So moved to another spot on full tide and caught 2 rays and 2 doggies :twisted:

Species 2012: Flounder, Whiting, Dublin Bay Codling, Coalie, 3 Beard Rockling, Shore Rockling, Bass, Dogfish, 5.2lb Starry Smoothhound (PB), Twaite Shad, Thornback Ray 5.8lbs (PB), LSD, Pollock, Ballan Wrasse, Cork Wing Wrasse, 43cm Flounder (PB)

Species 2013: Coalie, East Coast Codling, Smoothounds, And hopefully a back opp to get back fishing soon...

just back from ballycrowneen,clean & ballybranagan is the same,also the beachs in ballycotton bay are spotless if anyone is heading down that direction

just back from youghal,weed bad enough up the river & alot of floating debris i.e- trees...when the tide starts pushing & but not to bad in the quays or green park....fishing very poor do,think there is just to much fresh water about,might be better by tomorrow...good luck

Im looking at heading down to waterford this weekend. Winds are dropping but I was just wondering does anybody have a clue on what way the weed is down there with this recent spate of weather.

Courtmac and broad strand wer weedless and fishless with the exception of 2 small whiting
