can a multiplier rod be used with fixed spool reels

As it says above can they me used as iam going to use fixed spool for a bit i was thinking of buying k2 multiplier rods incase in future i change mind and change to mutiplier reels to. would this be a waste of time.

it'll be ok, but the problem is the ring sizes, on fixed spool rods, the rings towards the butt are over sized to accomadate the line peeling off the reel in big loops. while on the mutliplier rods, the rings are smaller and there are more of them to stop the line hitting off the rod itself as the rod is flexed and bent.....yuo might find that there maybe slightly more resistance during the cast using a fixed spool on a multiplier rod, but really, the difference is tiny, and you'd hardly notice it. on the other hand there would be a marked difference trying to fish a multiplier on a fixed spool rod...... my advice is fire away, as long as you do intend on switching to the multiplier in the not too distant future, if not, then stick to an out and out fixed spool rod.

a fixed spool on a multiplier rod is fine- some even prefer having the more numeropus smaller rings. it will still cast a long way and i'd say the difference is hard to notice when fishing.
