Hi all. I'm visiting my cousin in lurgan for the weekend soon. I'll be arriving on friday the 22nd. Going to be doing a bit of fishing in ardglass and was wondering what to expect. Fishing from rock marks. Any information is of help as i've never fished further north than wexford so i don't know what the fishing is like up that way. Is the water deep or is it affected much by tides? What species are available? Is the ground very rough? Pm me if you have any tips that you don't want to share on an open forum. Thanks for the help.
Tight Lines,
Evan

Hi Evan
fishing from the golf course side can be productive enough its good deep water with pretty good clean ground one of the very few marks in the north that can produce ling (mack being the best bait for them) plenty of dogs pollack and good coalie macks have been a bit scarce always found august onwards the best month esp for cod if your handy with the fly rod you can have some great crack but to be honest I prefer the sheepland side for this ...just watch out for the seals in and around the golf course they can be a real pain...if you are after conger over the harbour wall at night can produce and a sole was caught about 2 years ago so theres always a surprise wind is a big factor in this part of the coast it is hard to fish in anything but a westerly and southerly just forget it big swells.. fishing is always best 1 hour up to the flood and ebb the top of the tide always seems to switch fish off ...from a bait point of view mack and suid always done well for me lol but that seems so long ago ...Tight Lines John
