i have never fished it but ther is easier access to the beach at balineskar and curracloe. the only thing is these beaches will be packed with bathers and i wouldnt fish it in the daytime in summer. ive heard reports of flounder and a few bass bein causght at the raven and along curracloe and balineskar.

Yea you can drive right down to it.
There is a car park at the nature walk, then ya just have to walk over the sand dunes

fished there about 3 weeks ago. the place looks amazing and you would expect to catch loads of fish there, but we didnt catch anything exept tonnes of weed.
the weather wasnt great, and there are literly hundreds of seals living on the sandbar just offshore, so as soon as you cast. they just sit in the water for hours lookin at you waiting to rob your fish.
its a long way down, we drove in a 4x4 and the looks we got off the people on the beach, some woman even shouted at us to get off the beach as we were moving location the next morning.
lovely place tho id love to try it again with better wind conditions

You'll catch nothing there. Thousands of seals on patrol 24hrs a day. Better off going a few miles further up the coast past Blackwater

There are bye-laws regarding that beach
http://www.wexford.ie/wex/Departments/E ... -Laws2005/Prohibitions: Save with the written prior permission of the Local Authority no person shall do or cause any of the following acts on the Beach namely
a) Enter onto, leave, use or ride a bicycle or similar vehicle, motorcycle, quad, motorcar or any other mechanically propelled vehicle.
There was an article in the local paper about the Raven this week, so I'd be careful down there.
http://www.wexfordpeople.ie/news/proble ... 15832.htmlCALLS have been made for the bylaws governing one of Co Wexford's most popular beauty spots to be enforced – before it is spoiled.
The Friends of The Raven Coastcare Group have said that antisocial behaviour and littering are getting so bad in Curracloe that it's now getting to the point where their voluntary efforts to clean the area are becoming 'futile'.
The Raven Wood Nature Reserve, adjoining the hugely popular Curracloe beach, is designated as a Special Area of Conservation, and bylaws there include no camping, no fires, no littering (including dog foul) and that all dogs must be kept on leads.

I know the spot and it's the worst place for dog sh!t
And despite the laws being put in place, councils don't have the money to hire any one to police them.
