Hi Folks,
This is my first post!
As an intro I'm from Cork but now residing in Limerick& working in Shannon Co.Clare
I have been fly-fishing trout, pike& saltwater for a number of years.
Over the past 3 years I have concentrated on Bass fishing ( Plugging & fly) depending on the conditions .
I try and get out an average once a week.
I am familiar with a number of marks in Cork and still tend to gravitate to this marks - unfortunately it is a bit of a journey.
I have tried a number of marks in Clare i.e Lurga point - Seafield , Lahinch but these publicised marks do not offer much scope to fly fish.
I would love to hear from anyone with experience plugging &/or fly-fishing in the Clare / Limerick area.
Take Care,
Wacker07.

hey wacker,
i'm currently living in kilkee in clare, but only for another two weeks(bol*lix).
anywho, there are aplenty of marks down in these parts that are suited to a couple of hours plugging and swff. kilkee bay itself can produce some quality pollack fishing, especially at low tide, when the rock marks become more accessible, there is untold potential in the area really, coz so few people fish around here, that's the biggest problem, trying to source venues that fish consistantly. anyway, as i said, kilkee bay offers excellent pollack sport, and is less than 40 minutes away from you. there are plenty of other rock marks such as out by the bridges of ross..... neilus on the forum lives in shannon too, so expect a reply from him in the next couple of days, also ross, another forum member is a local of kilkee and has an unlimited amount of local knowledge(the best kind) i'm sure you'll get a responce from him also over the next few days...
i've pm'ed you my mob. number in case you are down in my neck of the woods in the next couple of weeks, and i can show you a few pretty consistant marks around kilkee.
cheers,
Patrick

I have to agree with frodo baggins being originally a native of Cork but now living in the Limerick Area I have found the Fishing in and around Killkee very accessible and of the highest quality. Also some small bass can be caught around Tarbert but not FF friendly.
