Ian gold's are perfect for the beach, real sturdy and I cant fault them.

But the Shakespeare salt is more adaptable if off the rocks because of its telescopic legs so id go for that.

Dom, do a google for the Veals Pro Tripod. It's made by Craig Parker, worth every cent and lasts a lifetime. All made from aircraft aluminium, inclusive of stainless steel screws. Have mine since 3 years and can't fault it. Prices are recession proof too ;)

I've had my one of those for over 4 years and have had no problems with it. I bought mine here for 50 quid so it is probably as cheep to buy here compered to on line considering the exchange rate.
