Fenit Pier- Where do you fish from this structure
Big piece of construction this?
So where do you fish off it, and for what species?
Will be visiting this weekend so any advice appreciated?
Any bait/tackle shops in tralee?
Thanks
Kev

Thanks Donagh
Have you fished Fenit?
Its a bit bigger than Kilteery and quite impressive. However, because its so big I was wondering where to fish from. Im determined to catch some proper whiting before they bugger off
As you know, for some reason there have been very few in the Shannon this winter

Hi Kev,
Sorry I haven't fished any further in Kerry than BallyB something I'll be rectifying this year especially after reading Bob Moss's books on fishing in Dingle. BTW there's a list of angling shops in the first book.
On the subject Shannon Whiting I saw on the weather forecast that the shannon basin had got 50% more rain fall than was normal for January. Can't of done much for the salt water fishing.

I fished from the pier last thursday night.Very calm conditions.I fished at the point where the pier wall goes from solid to railing about 1/4 way up.From 4.30 to 7.30 the bites never stopped. All whiting.

By the way,Launders leisure lines (up the side street by the Courthouse in Tralee)is an excellant tackle shop.Worth having a chat with the owner about the Pier.

Thanks for the replies ,guys
Col, were you casting away from the pier or fishing tight in against the pier?
Think Ill have a go Saturday morning
Last weekend was my first blank ever in Dingle and my first (hopefully last) of 2004
Its not easy being a crap fisherman, but Ive made an art form of it

Right Col
Im going to see if I can round up Dave B who posts here
I havent seen him since he whupped me on a pike trip on the Shannon two weeks ago, but he fishes (badly, sorry dave)around the estuary with me
Armed with some sandeel and squid, the whiting had better watch out
