Hi, welcome to the forums. Did a quick search for you, doesn't seem to be a lot posted for the Skerries area lately. The only recent post would be at

http://www.sea-angling-ireland.org/bull ... t=skerries

Hope this helps. Don't fish the area myself, but maybe some of the Dublin lads would have a few pointers?

Alright Kiwijbob,

Was fishing on the pier and caught loads of Mackerel on the float. There we loads of people there using feathers, infact everybody was using feathers except me  ,Im surprised nobody was injured as there were hooks flying all over the place.Even had a kid of about 14 telling me that I'd never catch anything unless I changed to feathers  ,and he seemed to think that the sandeel that I was using for bait was what I kept on catching  .I didn't see the point in trying with feathers as it was too easy,at least with the float it's more fun and at least you can give the fish a fair chance.
Anyway moved onto the rocks at the back for a bit of peace and caught a few aswell on the float.A good day out overall and the sun was shining too.Next stop Greystones this weekend.

P.S. Anyone know why Mackerel fishing attracts kids drinking dutch gold

Don't knock Dutch Gold/ Chavdonnnay/ Pover Pils/ Culchie Champagne! Got me through many a skint night!
