Fish a flapper in close worm baits & a pulley at distance worm or razor... You should see a few fish...

Fanore can sometimes be a good venue for bass, especially if you fish with worm or razorfish baits. So, since fishing for bass is illegal at the moment (the closed season runs until midnight on the 15th) maybe you would be better off trying somewhere else this weekend? The rock ledges nearby at Black Head or Ballyreen can fish very well for quality wrasse and pollock close in, or rays and bullhuss etc to longer casts.

Probably better with sticking to blackhead, good sized pollock to be got there after dark.

best staying away from Fanore till after the bass closed season.

Pollack and Coalfish in close...small hook and bait for the Coalies...if it rough 2 hook flappers ...calm try the bottom with running ledger...watch you can run into some rough ground tends to be better heading back down to Ballyvaughan, ye'll see the cars park'd on the roadside...best luck, stay safe and enjoy...

When you are night fishing Fanore beach beware of the nasty weeverfish - you won't forget a close encounter with him in a hurry  There are quite a few about and they can be easily confused with other smaller species in low light condition.

There's plenty of flounder and a few turbot showing in close at present I've had dogs good sized coalies and a couple of ray this week on on worm/razor cocktails (if you have distance) there's no bass running at the moment on the beach so safe to fish regarding the ban ;)

Ps there's a lot of weaver there at the moment too so be careful...

maybe merging the 2 posts would be easier, avoiding the same info being posted twice?
