I saw a topic from a few months ago about fishing the tolka estuary in clontarf. It said the water was from 1ft to 4ft deep and im wondering if id catch flounder in water that shallow or is it not deep enough ?

Yes ive caught them in less but look for channels or pools where they dig in and wait for tide to rise

I've seen flounders caught on the spare patton as it hang on the stand...honestly   On the storm beeches they would follow the waves up the beech and and back down again. It staggers me that this happens.

I've also caught flounder in a few inches of water on surf beaches. If you have a look at the estuary at low tide you should be able to see little streams and gullies where the flounder will start to patrol as the tide rises.
