hi man. you can't go wrong with waterfoot pier. plenty of stuff to keep the child happy with the odd chance of something decent turning up. set the child up with a set of mini feathers with little bits of mackeral on them and he/she will have a great day. just get down early to make sure you get a spot to fish. althow if it's cod your looking for to take home to eat, you might have to put in a few sessions to get something worthy to take home. we see far to many people down there each year killing small codling that would'nt even be a pound in weight :x then they wonder why there is'nt more bigger fish out there to be had on a more regular baisis   . so sad to see it happening every summer with lads filling tesco bags with small fish :( .
but good luck man, hope you and the child have a good day out and hit your targets :P :P

theres the usual dose of coalies in the bay at the moment (who will readily take mackerel baits). with the chance of codling and plenty of flounder, dab and plaice who would'nt turn their noses up at rag or lug baits. i know mackerel are being taken round the salmon cages. so over high water you should stand a chance from the shore :P

a pier is your best bet as long as there is some sort of railing you see it on fenit pier all the time. the best thing is they can be put in the car if they get cold!
