Hello all,
I managed to get 4 hours of night fishing in last night around the greystones area, from the pire and shore. It was my first time to do so. To be honest it felt hopeless. Any tips and advice on equipment and what have ya would be great. Cheers Thanks,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, :?

Obviously make sure all your Rigs are ready straight out of the Wallet to be Clipped on.
Light Sources, either a Headlamp, or Gas Lamp should be checked before hitting the beach, There's nothing worse than the lights going out half way through a session.
Probably the most Important bit of advice is know your tackle box, Know exactly where everything is, There's nothing more annoying than having to rip the contents of your tackle box out in a vain search for your bait elastic.

Argus do a head torch for 9.99 sterling, 8 led's and the battery lasts, perfect for night fishing.
star lights help taped on to the top of your rod for bite detection
Only fish with a friend never alone.
fish a mark you know well.
try to set up in daylight and then fish into the dark, (twilight is a deadly time to fish.)
organize your gear so you can find things easily(take care to return your gear to where it normally goes.) its so easy to put a knife down and then reach for it again only to spend 10 min looking for it.
Try not casting as far as daylight, a lot of fish will come in close under the cover of darkness. if you fish two rods try one in close one out far until you find the fish.
Don't flash your torch too much over the water, only when you need to casting and reeling in. there's no point fishing at night if you light up the water like midday.
take extra cloths and eat and drink more than you would during the day, this keeps out the cold and helps keep you wide awake.
do not take naps, this lowers the body temp and you'll feel like s***. plus you could miss that all important take.
Hope some of this helps.
