Chest Waders.

Has anyone any recommendation on the best budget , value for money brand chest waders?
Any advice would be appreciated .

i would not go near the shakespeare ones anyway,,,,,,,,,,,i heard the sonik ones are brilliant but there about 119 sterling,,,,,goto www.soniksports.com ........very fast and effecient to deal with i have to say

i'll give one peice of advice...if you can afford neophane chesties,buy them! i've had the ordaniary ones and they worked fine(snowbee) but i treated myself to a pair of grays neophane chesties and i will NEVER go back to the plastic type...the difference is unreal!there comfortable,light,and as a bonus,keep you warm as toast! i paid 120 euros for them,but you can get the kenitics and diawa ones for around the 70-80 euro mark.

You can get a set of Bison breathables on fleabay for about 85 quid! Theres no boot with them. I just got a cheap pair of walking boots in Dunnes. They'll do for the Summer/Autumn but you'll deffo need the neoprene ones for the winter.

I have heard good things about BassBoots, I have seen previous posts on ere about the site and the product itself!

Thanks for the advice everyone , neoprene sounds like the way to go .. was hoping to keep it under the 100 euro mark , the fishing budget is well eaten into already this year

Just ordered a pair of diawa 4mm neoprene from a tackle shop in belfast costing 69.99 sterling with postage being 16 pounds on top of that C and j on the longmile road in Dublin do them for under 100 euro so probably not much of a difference there but still a good price for them

bought two pair in lidle last year worn them on many occasions no faults and very cheap under 25 euro had neopreen ones and found it hard to get in and out of them as they cling to you lidles are rubberised and i slip in and out very easily

I used walking boots with my breathables and cos they didn`t sit up under the gravel guard, sand/gravel got into the boot and wore out the neoprene sock on the waders and now leak like a sieve

Found some good neoprane waders, however the boots have two types of soles, flat and ridged. I mainly fish from shore should I being getting particular ones or does it really matter?

Doesn't really matter, only time a sole would come into it for me is with regards to fishing rock marks where a cleated sole would be advisable for that extra bit if grip.

dont know if using waders on rock marks is good practice shambo,,well certainly not deep water ones
