Hi, been needing to ask this for some time, what is a 'flapper' when it comes to rigs, also what does '2 up 1 down' mean? I checked out 'pennell pulley' on line but dont know what the others are, I may well have already used them without knowing their names?
Thanks.

Flapper means a rig that has no bait clips, the 2 up 1 down means 2 hooks are above the lead and 1 is below the lead.

Take a look at these two pages;
http://www.east-anglia-sea-angling.co.u ... allet.htmlhttp://www.moonfleet-angling.com/moonfl ... _rigs.htmlBoth have a number of rigs on and give a few ideas on how to tie them. The guy that does the first one likes to keep components down to, well, line and hooks given half a chance, so they're nice and cheap if you fish rock marks and lose tackle.

Comes in a few different types, I use 3 hook flappers of piers and beach's as it gives me good cover to start with without losing gear. If they seem fine then change to 2 up 1 down, simply just goes on your own preference but generally an all rounder rig
