Usual spot at the end of the beach where we fish looked like this around 2 weeks ago at low tide:

But I just had these photos sent to me at high tide today. :(

Jaysus, don't tell eyesreilly!

I'd my first ever good session from where you took the picture, a double of 3lb colaies on mussel on atrout rod when I was a kid.

To be fair though, it's not a great mark to start with

I grew up swimming and fishing here, it amazes me how much the sand can shift these days... when I was a kid this spot would always have been underwater.

Fished that spot years ago many times. There used to be a diving board at the end of the piece jutting out to sea from where the painting ends and a platform out in the sea that the kids used swim out to. At high tide I had to hide around on the steps up from the painting so that I didn't get drenched and had waves come over that wall that's painted. :D :D
But hey that was in the day when you could catch lots of cod worth keeping for the table and don't think there was much talk about blank days, not saying they didn't happen though. :D

Very Small tides this week so maybe that has had an effect

Ger's right it's just a temporary thing, a combination of weather and tides causes the deposition.

Wow! I attempted to fish Greystones last Monday week, the bank holiday, There were huge swells coming in and fishing was a waste of time.

I tried that spot for a while and that sand was not there, the power of the ocean eh! The waves did look brown alright

That might be true but you still will not see water in there like it used to be so erosion along the coast here has filled up that area over the years.

Sorry for the late reply. Was down again recently to fish in front of the Beachouse there but all I got was 1 flattie so I decided to stroll down to the other end and all the sand was gone so back to normal now. :D
