interesting there mate... i wounder did he bring the spotted ray with him..ive fish there 100s times from the shore and off the boat and never seen one there.......

interesting point about the pollack there: if the spinners dont work then have a go at 'spinning' a frozen sand eel.

Spotted, Thornies, Undulate & Blondes have all been caught there you just have to know which part of it to fish...

i think you can make out the peg number they are on and another thing i heard from someone on this site that all involved in making that video were a disgrace leaving litter and empty sandeel packets lying around!

They had Undulates just a few miles away from that mark and hooked a nice tope but lost it when they tried to land it. The lads were really whacking the baits out for the rays, it was a lot more than the hundred yards he said on the video.

would not surprise me in the slightest!!
They dumped all the bait (with wrappers attached) and left the place in a mess quite a few years back when I happened to be fishing beside them with a couple of other members of the site!, ever since then I refuse to buy the sea angler mag! disgraceful behaviour for a so called pro angler!!

it makes a big difference but i would not cut the head and tail off it the only methot i use when fishing for pollock and it has stood me well over the years

can only call it as you se it but had messrs Clarke, Yates, Fenech etc down here two years ago and in seven days fishing they never left so much as a discarded bit of newspaper.

I agree, when spinning for pollack the sandeel become a 'sight bait' and is taken because of it's movement rather than scent. How many of you have had a few 'plucks' before you hit the pollack? I think that is the main benefit of the natural over the artificial. If a fish gets a mouthful of tasteless rubber what is the incentive to follow up? Pollack must constantly strike at baits which they do not manage to hold or swallow therefore a second attempt would be natural. even with the artificial it is not uncommon for a pollack to pluck at it until the last lift of the retrieve.
