i was down topping up on my razor stocks last night, and for the first time in well over 30 years gathering razor in this area i seen a group of 7 chinese/aisian's out collecting razor  there is enough pressure on these beds as it is without seeing this, it wont be long till that 7 turns into 70.
and there wont be anybody to blame other than the so called Mr Dublin Bay(and they are all mine) Himself  , conservation me bollix the rag beds are already near Destroyed :x

should be good i think not :o

The same problem is also happening with the beds in Cork harbour.

Are they only collectable at the really low tides because of over collection?

No, the sand banks they live in are only exposed on the big springs

,Who cares about some chinese lookin for a bit of dinner u could have 1000 chinese at and it wudnt be a fraction of whats being done by the boats at gormanston/balbriggan,at least de sea bed will recover,up my way when the rasor fishing goes out of fashion de seabed will be ploughed to a flat featureless desert, and will never be the same again.

a black & red trawler was dredging non-stop last sunday just infront of bray esplanade, surely even 7000 chinese wouldn't had caused as much damage as a single operator! and the bloody noise was driving me mental, not to mention the poor sea creatures, not surprise to get not a nibble

If you happen to go out any night in Dublin Bay you will see that razorfish boats dredging away all though the night. We need to stop the scaremongering about people and focus on where the real damage to the ocean is coming from.
