Montenegro

Hiya Lads,

This is only my second post on the forum !

I am heading off to Montenegro for a month in 3 weeks and planning to bring all my fishing gear with me.

I have been going out there for the last 8 years but never really did any fishing there yet. This time it will be different.

I am far from an experienced fisherman and I have alot to learn. Just wondering is there anyone on here that has fished down that way before, either in croatia or anywhere along the adriatic.

I plan to be doing mainly pier fishing but maybe taking a trip to skadar lake.

Tha lads over there fish with bread (recreational fishing) and im thinking surely with some other bait I would have a much better return then what they are getting with bread.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I look forward to your replies

Thanks in advance

Ron

Take my advise leave the rods at home and make the most of the sun :D :D :D
What part are you going to? I fished there last year off the boats and the fishing was brutal and the shore fishing is even worse. There are small bream, rainbow wrasse and little perch like fish(forgot the name). Anyways most of the fish are 10cm and smaller you might get the odd bream over 25cm but this would be a rare enough. There isnt even that many small fish around. The water is very clear so you need very small hooks size 8-12 and use very fine snoods 4-8ib florocarbon. Basically you need steped up coarse fishing tackle over there. Dont know what the lakes fish like over there but they cant be any worse than the sea. If you have any other questions on it let us know.
