Any tips on how to speed up the peeling process of crabs

Wed Mar 23, 2011 5:51 pm

I picked up a few peeler and i'm using a few tonight and a few at the weekend. The ones i'll use tonight are in good nick and popping but a few are still early on in the peeling process. Does anyone have any tips how to make them peel quicker. Thanks.

put your crab in about half inch of salt water over nite when you come out in the morning thay will have stated to pop the hard shell and so easy to peel when there like that . and to mb3 it depends on wat part of the country your in . leinster always gets a earlyer peel than munster and in the west and north there are verey few crab and peels during the year . plenty of crab at the moment in leinster

I picked them up from the fridge in a shop. Don't know where to pick myself but i wouldn't mind it as the price of petrol on top of €1 crabs is really putting a halt on my fishing.

it's not too warm and no chance of them freezing. I'll keep an eye on them anyway and chuck them in the cool box when they're prime. :D
