Hi all,

After 2 weeks in Dunmore East and 2 weeks in Achill , Ishall stay 2weeks in Dunfanaghy area , (first octo to 15th) ,
I know south and west shore marks but it is the first time in north Donegal .
Some information about shore marks between Horn Head to Downies are welcome , I have the Donegal map: Discovery series 2 .
I'll post a report at the end of my holidays , and , I hope , some nice pictures if the red tide have not killed too much fish !

cheers , alain

Hi Alain ,
As you say - a great site . I'm kind of surprised that you haven't been given any info yet because people here seem to be v generous with their advice . But not really surprised because I don't think that many of the contributors are particularly familiar with the area themselves . Not many of us based up there .
Have you tried the "shore marks" feature , or "searched" on some of the names on your map ? If not , give it a go .
Would also suggest that you include the general location in your "subject" line - might catch someones eye , a bit like those feathers the oiks keep lashing about off the piers .
Anyway , this will bring your question back up to the top .
Good luck
Nick

Whoops, missed this the first time around. Nice one blowin', to bring it back to the top. Wouldn't want our visitors to think we're rude, ignoring them.

You're heading into my backyard, Dunfanaghy to Downings. 8) Although I mainly boat fish, not shore fish, so I'm no expert on shore marks.

I could tell you, but since you'll be here why don't I take you for a spin around and point out a few places you might find interesting.

We might even get Sandman out to join us, we've been threatening to go fishing for a while now.

Yup, I can show you all the places around North Donegal that you should avoid like the plague, unless you actually **want** to blank.

My fishing days are seriously limited these days so I'd be glad to get out. Drop me a PM when ready and i'll see if I can make it.

Found this document on the CFB web site. Might be of interest to visitors.

Has a map and info on various marks.

For everyone else, there are similar documents for all round the coast at
