for a measely 10 spot plus postage you can get a 5watt cree headlight on ebay from europe or you could order two on ebay from hong kong or china and get them in 4 or 5 weeks for about 1.50 each plus postage for the same lamp? petzel mio xp are ok and the lenser headlights are ok aswell you can spend a couple of hundred yo yos on some but are they really worth that much :?: i,ve seen the cree headlight in action and for a tenner you wont be dissapointed

Was told about the cree headlamp on ebay, got one great job. It uses 3 aaa batteries. I get a 10 pk of kodac batteries for £1 in poundland stores in belfast. The lamp has a strong beam that can be widened and narrowed, full or dimmed a bit. Great cheap lamp.

I have a Lenser H7r , good light , rechargeable but a bit flimsy... I recently bought a Chub Sat-a-lite 250 , which is cheap, robust and very versatile, with adjustable beam & power as is the Lenser.
As I have an interest in led flashlights I would recommend only one brand if you are looking for a quality Headlight to last a long time , that would be Fenix . Outstanding quality and endorsed by candlepowerforums ,there are two models I would recommend that is the HP10 & if you're budget allows the HP20. both have proven reliability and are waterproof to IPX-8 standard if you decide to do a little swimming!
My longest owned Fenix is a PD3 & 3 yrs on .. despite knocks and falls.. its as good as the day I bought it.

They are already out there, i have one. Good, but not sure its THAT good. I have had 3 of the H7s break on me and know of two others that have done the same. Theres no denying that they are good, but you want to treat them well, they dont take kindly to being thrown into seatboxes.

Anyway, do a search!! This topic has been covered loads before theres no need for lads to keep posting the same thing.

thanks for all feedback i currently have 2 energizer headlamps 1 there for back up an yes they are a good reliable lamp but i find the lighting off them is not to much spread out, i remember my bro haven a petzl which had a strong beam an the beam was very widened an not just a straight beam out of it if you know what i mean, im after a headlamp that has a nice wide beam an thats good battery life etc

how much are the h14 on sale for?

I got mine for 110 euro, but i most likely paid too much, local tackle shop and all that. Give Duffys in Galway a ring if you want one, i think they still have a couple.

To the OP, stay away from led lenser if you want good battery life. The H7s eat batterys like mad and the H14s are worse.

Edit: I just checked the price in the uk, they are going for around 75 pounds, so when you add to that about 15 pounds shipping and convert it it comes to 103 euro, so its not such a bad price after all.

Forgot to say that you can add an AD401 diffuser to the HP10 for flood-light .
