Folks,
Anybody able to help figure out Tinaberna tide? I am heading out Saturday night hoping for a Bass but I will be happy with anything.
I have only fished Tinaberna once bfore and cast out not for from the small parking area. Any advice on the best mark on this beach would be greatly appreciated too.
Thanks in advance
Emmet

The Courtown tide might be the best to use and HT is at 8:54pm on Saturday night. Just fish a little to the right of the car park about 100 yards down. Keep one rod in very close and you might get some schoolies if they are about. There is also a chance of a codling then at distance there. It's a funny beach tide wise with not a massive difference in tides most of the times.

thanks for replying. The only problem I have with using courtown tide is that it has a mind of its own! Last time I was there I fished it after high tide (did not calculate it properley) for 8 hours and the tide never came back in..not even 1 inch..really wierd..

Yeah that stretch of coast is where the tides meet flooding/ebbing from north and south. They tend to have a mind of their own. Usually means in the summer that most evenings at dusk you can fish. There was a special tide book done for Wexford but I've tried loads of places and nobody knew what I was on about! But I did read it somewhere.

I came across this in a tide book if it is any help.
Based on Dublin tide table
Courtown: Springs. Time difference Minus 3hr:28min Tide difference minus 2.8mt
Neaps. Time difference Minus2hr:42min Tide difference minus 2.4mt

Used to fish it alot, Up to the left when you walk out.... About 300 yards up anyway.
The ground to the right between ballinamona/tinnabearna is a bit more rough at distance and is not usually pegged in comps.

Was there last wed tides were all over the place. Tried everything lug, rag.razor, squid in close and at distance not a nibble all night. Was fishing up to the left calm seas and bitter cold. Think its a bit early for that mark better further south.

Hence the chance of a codling

But not really over 2-3lb at best. To the left is cleaner alright but you need to walk down a good bit. Much better in summer for bass and smoothies.

The left is better overall, had plenty of small codlings there over the years amongst all the other usual species. Local beach to me so I used to fish it alot. The further you walk up the better...I only said 300 yards as a starting point.

fished it a lot also, donal is bang on there with the tides, but it is always a very tricky beach to get the tide right,
might be a little too early though, a post came in the other day and they caught three, well worth a go though. razor and crab, works best there.
to the left 400-600 yrds up is really rough ground and fishes best, pray for a surf my friend and this beach is brilliant.
go for it pal and make sure to post a report

I fished Morriscastle on Friday up until 8.30. I only went out to blow away some cobwebs but I got 5 Codling all about the 28/30 cm mark. I didn't get so much as a tap until it got dark so I was raging I had to pack up but I had to get back home. Don't know if this helps anybody but at least it shows there are fish in the area.
