LSD

I know lads use makeral, peeler, lug, rag, prawns ( i even used jelly babies and lunchen) but it broke my heart hearing about LSD been used as bait! I dunno if its just me but i love the **** outta LSD, they can be annoying but i just think theres something about them. Last summer i was fishin a pier and i caught one fish all night, first cast caught a LSD so i was happy and just as i was packing up later that night i seen one swimming on top of the surface so i guessed its the same one. Just wondering why people dont like them is all? Is it just because loads of people dont like them?

I catch plenty of them and they saved me from many blanks,as for using them for bait I wouldn't bother because I rather use sandeel,squid and mackerel

I am sure they would work as bait because I have seen the trawler men landing boxes of them and giving them to the lobster men for the pots

people don't like them because if you get a plague of them its hard to get any other species of fish

they use them as bait for skate and they are a pain in the ares when fishing for hounds and ray plus they dont fight and when you have seen one you have seen them all. they are a pest for most anglers

In a comp lads love the old doggies but when pleasure fishing with big baits out for hounds, ray or tope they drive me nuts

great wee fish man. saved many a blank and a hell of a lot better than pin whiting and micro pollack. althow boat anglers are'nt too keen on them when fishing at depth for other species as the doggies usually find their baits before their intended target fish. a long way up, then a long way back down again . you'll also get them in vast numbers some times with a single angler getting 30 in a day no problem. great fun for recreational anglers just out for a bit of fun. but if you've travelled the length or breadth of the country in search of a particular species, say smoothies. the doggies can decimate your fresh peeler crab supplies in short order. and at £1 a crab, it can get quite costly .
but personally, i love to see them. class wee fish and a great predator who's spent thousands of years evolving to get to where they are today

i could catch doggies all day long and not get bored
but then i dont care what i catch...... i just love to fish

i remember the day i spent a lazy summers evening floating fishing for sticklebacks in the ornamental pond of a business park using half a maggot on a size 22 hooks. i got some strange looks but i caught loads and i had fun

having fun is all that really matters at the end of the day

and heres me targeting doggies never caught one i think there a mighty looking species!
