Hi lads, Im new to the sea angling and Im just wondering what kind of fish I can catch this time of year ?

I'd suggest a quick look in the shore reports would answer your question. Cod, coalie, whiting, flounder and bass turning up at the moment depending on where you are fishing few other bits and pieces

Andrew, here is a link to the Inland Fisheries Board site that has some very good downloads for novice anglers. It will show you plenty of marks to sink your teeth into.

Thank you for the info lads. Could anybody recommend me nice beach for cod and flounder ... I know there is loads of info on the Internet but maybe someone could share their own personal experience....

Youghal beach

Lug, razor, crab and rag will do the job

Fish the flooding tide for best results

ive only been fishing this year starting off i fished monkstown a lot :D its good several marks and you,ll pick up mainly cod/whiting but you never know what you might get :P .its easy to get to aswell bus from the city also cobh (trains very frequent) the deepwater quay or kennedy quay but monkstown is a good spot i think.
