Hi,newbie to the board,but not to shore angling

Hi,Im a newbie and thinking of getting back into the shore angling scene. 
I used to do alot of competition shore angling and fished for Ireland over in the old Yougoslavia many many years ago.
But over the years with growing up,work commitments,buying a house and starting a family meant that the fishing went by the wayside.
But Ive allways kept and interest in the angling,especally the shore angling and seeing what the fishing is like these days.
So what are the beaches around Newcastle and 5 Mile Point and North Beach Wicklow like these days and this time of year?
