Lettergesh is fairly reliable for turbot, and a chance of ray aswell, its not too far from Killary.

Try the beach beside little killary for turbot aswell.

Only fished it once myself so I'm no expert, but some of the west coast lads will come along and help I'm sure.

small turbot are available on a lot of the beaches in that area - and i mean small 15cm

lettergesh is safe enough, in the carpark theres a bit of green area where you could pitch a tent for the night - its quiet enough round there in general - more of concern would be a spring tide with a north westerly - or that the little river there on the way down to the carpark is in flood - 2 french people drove into it when the bank eroded a bit and drowned - very sad incident

if your planning to leave the gear during the day and its a fine weekend i dont think any of the beaches will be that quiet!

thanks for the info will keep it in mind in the photo i seen on google earth there is a point on ross with grass just above the beach so thats why i was thinking it might be safe also it looks very fishy

Hi Tightlines
See below link to a Campsite right beside lettergesh, I used it twice last year and had no issues leaving the gear in the tent. There are plenty of marks around there to fish including lettergesh, renvyle and Killary.

hi alan I tried to get to ross beach before but there is a gate on the road in to it,looks like you have to go through private land to get to it,I will try ask some local about it,I want to try it as well to see if I can get near the deep channel you can see out from the beach

if you want to fish lettergesh take the road towards killary but don't take the right up the hill at the lake keep going till you pass the caravan park and just before a bridge you will see it signposted
