Just wondering if you'd catch anything from one of the piers in Howth this time of year.

I've fished off the ends of both Howth piers and behind the west pier a few times. The best I've done is two small-ish flounder off the end of the east pier in spring last year. Attached is a map which basically summarises what I've learnt from a few other, more experienced anglers met in the area. A seal is omni-present during the day. Also attached are some photographs I took whilst getting a sun-tan a couple of weeks ago just to give an idea of the place. Note the squiffy angle of the rod (strong currents, no where to set rod nicely, should get a stand for it). They are at low tide.

forget howth until summer times,
when mackarel arrives, you have a change but be honest with you howt piers are not good spot the fishing, thats my opinion someother anglers could have different picture of course...
ps:even stop watch shows right time twice a day :) :) :)
