hi,
hope you are all good.
i was interested to know if anyone directly targets dabs and if the would be willing to share a few starter tips.
all i know from my experience is they like black lug - and use a smaller hook than normal for me.
i think i have found a dab mark and i'd like to explore it further.
i appreciate any input

They do like lug with apparently a greater liking for stale smelly lug, however they will take a variety of baits including crab, mackeral and razorfish. They frequently feed on brittlestars and are fairly common on any sandy ground sometimes within casting range but you are more likely to have success on a slow drift. Groundbaiting can help draw them in if at anchor and are fairly obliging in most conditions. Adding a little attractor blade or flounder spoon can give you the edge as they are typical of flatfish and inquisitive. Hope this helps, let us know how you get on.
