Hi there...probably depends on where you are...but in w.waterford fishing last month...lots of fat bass...a few coalies and some pollack....all you need is clear enough water and the right marks...it seems like everything needs slowing down in the cold and fishing plugs and plastics deeper with lots of twitches seems to do the trick...I even had one 2 weeks ago on a surface popper.
probably heading plug fishing over the weekend and i expect to catch...i'll leave you know how i get on

Was out yesterday sean...I blanked....feck...hooked into what i think was a nice fish but there was a heavy swell and it all got mashed in the rocks...(yea yea i hear you say :D )
lures???? the list is endless for bass anyway...alot of lads have great success on kilty lures...personally i use plugs (shallow divers manily) as they seem to outfish the lures , especially this time of year...do a search on this forum ...for all sorts of suggestions on lures...sometimes anything works although this time of year it seems that fishing that bit deeper very slowly...twitching etc seems to be the successful tactic
alot of lads will say the bass on the south coast will be gone with the cold weather....but i don't believe that for a minute....i've seen em the last few days at low water...lurking around....can't seem to catch in the last few days though
