Kinnego beach?

Was thinking of giving Kinnego beach, Donegal a go some morning but am drive all the way from belfast if it's a total waste of time. Anyone fished it recently or ever?

I have never fished the beach there Tony and was asking someone else on saturday if they had fished it
They just fished the rocks around there the same as me for pollock and at times sea trout
wouldn't mind giving it a go and if your heading up this way give me a shout and we'll meet up for a session

Just from what I've read on websites, it sounds like it fishes similiar to Whitepark Bay so i'll def give it a go. You never know lwhat you could end up with. Certainly looks fishy.

Fished this beach last summer - very nice beach. I took wrasse, flounder and a small turbot on ragworm and mackerel strip. The beach is quite shallow, but the rocks at either end might be worth a chuck.

The road down is a bit ropey - wouldn't fancy it in the winter!

Kinnego bay would be worth the drive from Belfast purely for the scenery!

Never fished it but reports on this website never seemed great for it..

the rocks to the left are a tackle graveyard and ropey to get around to say the least

still it must be worth lads while as you see the feather wrappers aboout

as for the beach tried it once in the summer - does look awful fishy but i blanked

as has been said - its amazing scenery alone

The rocks to the right are more accessible but still snaggy and weedy... but that's where the fish are, right?
Saw a huge spider crab there, amongst the rocks, must've been close to three feet across!

Don't bother.... This beach does not turn up fish. Yes you will here storys of the odd fish being taken but for a session it's rotten. I have battered this beach to death ie current, tide ,wind sea conditions, bait and distance.. There are so many better beachs close by.

lol well i'm a bit disappointed at peoples experiences in Kinnego but I think scara has decided it for me on this one. I would like to explore that part of the country more than i do as the scenary is something else but i'll leave that for the "romantic" trips with the girlfriend :-p As a fisherman, the fish come first...

Can anyone recommend any other beaches on the north donegal coast? I plan on making a few big trips down south next year but i would really like to explore Donegal more this year if possible. I'm more of an "eating" fish man myself so any good flattie marks would be welcome.

Culdaff beach is worth a chuck, had flounder on it last week using mack strip and rag. The mack strip seemed to outfish the worm. The coalies were also about in numbers and it does throw up the odd turbot. Ballyliffin will produce and is fairly scenic too so you can fish and get that romantic walk in as well

fished kinnego beach, last year beautifull beach overrun in summer with families & swimmers. nothing worthwhile on the fishing a few flounder, palm size cast toward rocks on left produces wrasse, & small pollock.fished all tides with the same results pretty dissapointing. i had heard it produced spurdog, sole, turbot.i suppose its always a good standby if weather conditions are poor elsewhere.

its a real shame as it look as fish should be there and close by in either direction produces fish! its and oddity that beach

i spoke to a local once and he told me if you have a boat you can get out to a shelf thats in bay and would have ray etc in it. but you cant cast to it as its hundreds of yards from shore. unless your big danny!!
