Meant to say you have to go through private property to fish from the shore so its polite to ask the local land owners for permission to fish from their shore line.

You should try 'Gas Ballooning' for them off the shore.

It's a method i saw the guys in Australia using when fishing for spanish mackerel from the shore, shark are also caught using the same method. Basically they fill a large balloon with hellium which helps to take any large bait out in the drift. Seems to work pretty well from what i saw. Don't see why the same methods couldn't be applied to shark fishing from the caost here also :?:

Image of a ballooning rig on this site http://www.steeppoint.com.au/balloon_rig.htm the site has good gallery of fish caught from Steep Point. Makes our shore fish looks like stickle backs !

I've seen blue shark swimming within casting distance from a mark on the north antrim coast, never tried fishing for them though as only saw them occasionaly.
